2019 SSC Men’s Golf All-Conference Awards
MELBOURNE, Fla. - Twelve student-athletes have been named to the 2019 All-Sunshine State Conference men's golf teams. Jorge Garcia of the Barry University is awarded Golfer of the Year, Florida Southern College’s Max Coutsolioutsos is named Freshman of the Year, and Jimmy Stobbs of Barry is honored as Coach of the Year.
Voting for the All-SSC Men's Golf Teams was conducted among the league's men's golf coaches.

Garcia, a senior from Miami, is named conference Golfer of the Year following four tournament victories in 2018-19. He finished Top-7 in all 10 of his tournaments this year and posted a scoring average of 69.60 across 30 rounds, which is best in the SSC by more than a stroke. Garcia is the third Barry athlete to win SSC Men’s Golfer of the Year, first since 2014

League coaches select Coutsolioutsos as Freshman of the Year following a strong season for Florida Southern in which he logged a 73.56 scoring average across 32 rounds. The Bradenton, Florida native competed in 11 events for the Moccasins in 2018-19, with his top finish coming at the Matlock Collegiate Classic where he finished in second place. Coutsolioutsos is the sixth FSC athlete to win Freshman of the Year, first since 2015

Stobs has been awarded SSC Coach of the Year by his peers for the second time in his career
3. This year he led the Buccaneers to the No. 1 overall GolfStat ranking, seven tournament victories, 10 Top-3 finishes, and the program’s fourth conference championship
4. Stobs remains the only Barry skipper to earn Coach of the Year honors in men’s golf.
Garcia and Juan Jose Guerra of Nova Southeastern University repeat as First Team honorees, while Barry’s Niclas Weiland and Lynn University’s Tomas Gana move up from last year’s Second Team. For Weiland, the 2016 SSC Freshman of the Year, this award marks a fourth consecutive year receiving All-SSC honors. Second Team member Alberto Castagnara of Saint Leo repeats from last season, where he was also named Freshman of the Year. Florida Tech’s Max O’Hagan, a First Teamer in 2017-18, rounds out the SSC repeat winners with his Second Team accolade in 2018-19
