DADE CITY, Fla. - Round two of the 2019 Sunshine State Conference Women's Golf Championship ends with a pair of teams tied at the top. Barry University and Lynn University sit No. 1, while the University of Tampa's Kiira Riihijarvi holds on to a slim lead in the individual competition. Play resumes with the final round on Tuesday, April 16th at 8:30 a.m.

Women's Round 1 Recap
Riihijarvi, the No. 1 ranked GolfStat ranked player in Division II, finished her second round even par. The junior from Oulu, Finland remains 3-under for the tournament and holds a one-shot lead over the field. Right behind Riihijarvi, Hanna Ahlander of Nova Southeastern and Matilda Wahren of Lynn sit tied for at 2-under following matching 71's on back-to-back days. Four shots back, Sofia Garcia Austt of NSU and Josefina Foa Torres are tied for fourth at 2-over.
Individual Full Leaderboard - Day 2
Barry shot a round-best 2-over as a team on day two and have climbed into a tie for first with Lynn. The Buccaneers and FIghting Knights both have four golfers within the Top-20 heading into round three. Tampa rides a day two 3-over into third place in the standings, while day one leader NSU shifts down to fourth and Saint Leo University falls to fifth.

Foa Torres [Barry] joins Riihijarvi [Tampa] as the only athletes to shoot 3-under in a round during this year's tournament. They become the 12th and 13th athlete to shoot 3-under or better during an SSC Championship round, respectively.

Foa Torres and Heather Kipness [Tampa] tied for the biggest move up the leaderboard -- 20 spots.
Barry's day two 2-over (290) stands as the best team round at Lake Jovita during an SSC championship. It ties Florida Tech's mark on 4/23/2017 at Country Club of Winter Haven for sixth all-time.
Golfers found the par four 1st hole the most challenging during Round 2, as it played nearly a shot over par ( 0.87).
Tilda Larsson [Barry, T17] looks to join nine other women who have finished Top-10 in the SSC championship four times and a list of 10 golfers that have finished Top-5 three or more times.
