56 Swimmers and 36 Relay Teams Qualify for NCAA National Championships
The National Championship will be held in Indianapolis March 13-16

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - SSC swim teams will send 56 individual swimmers and 36 relay teams to the 2019 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Championships, it was announced by the NCAA Swimming and Diving committee on Wednesday, February 27th. The event will be held March 13-16 in Indianapolis, Indiana on the campus of Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis.
Of the student-athletes representing the SSC, 28 are male, and 28 are female. Of the 36 relay teams, 21 are men's teams, and 15 are women's teams.
The University of Tampa leads the league with 16 (10 women / 6 men) qualifying swimmers. Nova Southeastern University will send 15 swimmers (7 women / 8 men), and Florida Southern College will send nine (3 women / 6 men). Four swimmers will represent Florida Tech (1 woman / 3 men), Rollins College (2 women / 2 men), Saint Leo University (1 woman / 3 men), and Lynn University (4 women).
Four league swimmers enter the National Championship as the overall top qualifier. In the men’s heats, Victor Rocha Furtado from Florida Tech in the 50 Free, Matthew Holmes from Florida Southern in the 400 Individual Medley, and Henrik Dahrendorff from Saint Leo in the 200 Breaststroke. For the women, Nova Southeastern’s Emma Sundstedt is the top qualifier in the 1000 Free.
