2019 SSC All-Conference Volleyball Awards
MELBOURNE, Fla. - Eighteen student-athletes are recognized across three teams as All-Sunshine State Conference for the 2019 season. Voting for the team was conducted among the league's volleyball coaches.
Katie McKiel from the University of Tampa takes Player of the Year honors. McKiel, an outside hitter from Colorado Springs, Colorado, becomes the 11th Spartan to be named Player of the Year and the first since 2016
1. For the season, McKiel led the league in total attempts (1,160), kills (433), and kills per set (3.77). She was also 21st in digs (277) and 29th in digs per set (2.41).

Sam Wolf of Palm Beach Atlantic University wins Newcomer of the Year and Freshman of the Year accolades. She is the first student-athlete in PBA to earn Newcomer of the Year and the second overall to be named Freshman of Year
2. Wolf was fourth in both SSC kills (365)and kills per set (3.44) while hitting .283 this season. The Cincinnati, Ohio native, becomes the fifth player in conference history to win both Newcomer and Freshman of the Year, first since 2017

Lynn University's Adam Milewski is honored as the SSC Coach of the Year by his fellow coaches. The fifth-year head coach guided the Fighting Knights program to a 27-win regular season and its first conference championship. Lynn led the league offensively and defensively in hitting percentage (.253 vs. .152), assists per set (13.09 vs. 9.39), and kills per set (14.25 vs. 10.48), The accolade is the first for Milewski and Lynn.
Kristina Filimonova of Barry University and Olivia Roa of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University highlight a list of seven repeat All-SSC award winners. Both Filimonova and Roa earned All-Conference honors in 2017, 2018, and 2019. Along with McKiel and Filimonova, the 2016 Freshman of the Year, a total of six All-SSC honorees were named to the All-Newcomer Team prior to this season.
