Championship Central] - The Sunshine State Conference Women's Basketball Tournament semifinal match-ups will tip off on Saturday, March 3rd. Tournament semifinals and finals will be hosted by Florida Southrn College at the Jenkins Field House in Lakeland. All games will be streamed live on Sunshine Digital Network.

No. 1 seed Florida Southern College (23-4, 17-3) vs. No. 4 Barry University (19-10, 11-9)
How They Got There:
Florida Southern defeated No. 8 seeded Saint Leo University, 78-47, in Lakeland. Anja Fuchs-Robetin led the game with 26 points and grabbed seven rebounds as the Mocs defeated the Saint Leo Lions. (

Barry defeated the University of Tampa, 71-68, in Miami Shores, Ida Anderson scored 25 points and pulled down a team-high nine rebounds. (

Matchup:
Florida Southern took the season series over Barry, winning 78-66 in Miami Shores and 77-60 in Lakeland. The squads last met in the SSC playoffs in 2012-13. Barry upset the Mocs 50-44 in the opening round.
Players to Watch:
Along with Fuchs-Robetin, Camille Giardina (Florida Southern) and Kiara Palmer (Barry) were selected to the All-SSC First Team. Jensen Blassage (Florida Southern) earned All-SSC Second Team. Fuchs-Robetin was also named SSC Player of the Year.

No. 2 seed Eckerd College (22-6, 15-5) vs. No. 3 seed Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (22-6, 15-5).
How They Got There:
No. 2 Eckerd defeated No. 7 seeded Florida Tech, 62-45, in St. Petersburg. Ada Yalcin scored a career-high 22 points to push the Tritons into the semifinals. Eckerd held Florida Tech to 28% shooting in the victory. (

No. 3 Embry-Riddle defeated No. 6 seeded Nova Southeastern University, 90-84, in Daytona Beach. It marks the first-ever Embry-Riddle women's basketball postseason win as members of the SSC. Sabrina Whiting scored 17 for the Eagles while Lauren Ellenberger had 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds. (

Matchup:
Embry-Riddle and Eckerd split the regular season series 1-1. The Eagles won the first match up, defeating the Tritons 59-55 in St. Petersburg on January 6th. Eckerd got one back in Daytona Beach after winning the second matchup 72-67 on February 14th. This will be the first matchup between the two programs in SSC tournament history.
Players to Watch:
All-SSC First Team selection Kacie Juday (Eckerd) should play a big role on both sides of the ball for the Tritons. Juday is averaging 12.6 points per game and 8.3 rebounds. Tara Fields, also an All-SSC First Team selection, will play a crucial role for the Eagles. Fields is averaging 15.1 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game. All-SSC Second Team selection Lauren Ellenberger (Embry-Riddle) is another player to watch. She is averaging 9.7 points per game along with 4.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists.

Higher seeds will host during the quarterfinal rounds of the 2018 Sunshine State Conference Men's & Women's Basketball Championships. Semifinals and finals will be held at the
George Jenkins Field House on the campus of Florida Southern College in Lakeland. The SSC tournament quarterfinals will take place Wednesday, February 28th, semifinals will be Saturday, March 3rd followed by the finals on Sunday, March 4th.
