The Long Center in Clearwater has now produced a total of 10 new conference records and 17 meet records.

CLEARWATER, Fla. – Conference records continued to fall, as the Sunshine State Conference Championships concluded their third day of competition on Saturday.
 
The Long Center in Clearwater has now produced a total of 10 new conference records and 17 meet records.
 
Nova Southeastern continues to lead in both men’s and women’s events. The Sharks now hold a 742.5 to 588.5 lead over second place Tampa on the women’s side. Florida Southern is third with 430 points. In the men’s competition, the Sharks have 665 points, Florida Southern remains in second, but the Mocs narrowed the gap and now sit with, 622 points.  Florida Tech is third with 386 points, three ahead of fourth place Tampa.

Top Performances:
Courtney DeVeny of Nova Southeastern highlighted the evening, registering a new conference record in the 200 Yard Butterfly with a time of 1:59.80.  She was also a part of the NSU women’s 800-yard freestyle relay, which also captured a conference record stopping the clock with a time of 7:22.14.  Teammate Emma Sundstedt set a SSC Meet record in the night’s first event, the 500 Yard Freestyle.
 
Florida Southern freshman Brandon Dyck earned a Top Time in the 100 Yard Backstroke, touching the wall in 47:67, more than a second ahead of his closest competitor.
