Six SSC Men’s Golfers Named GCAA All-America

NORMAN, Okla. (Men’s Golf) – The Golf Coaches Association of America announced its 2014 Division II PING All-America teams on Tuesday. The Sunshine State Conference had six golfers named All-America and nine were named All-America honorable mention.

Florida Southern’s Tim Crouch and Barry’s Adam Svensson were both named to the GCAA PING All-America First Team, as it was originally announced on May 22.

Nova Southeastern’s Santiago Gomez was named second team All-America.

Barry’s Mario Beltran, Jared Dalga and Scott Smyers were all named third team All-America.

A total of 26 Division II golfers earned honorable mention status. Nine of those golfers were from the SSC including, Ray Badenhorst (Florida Tech), Ricardo Celia (Nova Southeastern), Mitch Farrer (Nova Southeastern), Ryan Gendron (Saint Leo), Keith Greene (Lynn), Justin Kalanquin (Florida Tech), Oscar Lengden (Nova Southeastern), Hunter O’Mahony (Nova Southeastern) and Elliot Whitley (Lynn).

Barry captured its second-straight NCAA Division II National Championship this past May, while Nova Southeastern finished runner-up. Crouch claimed his second consecutive individual national title, while Svensson finished runner-up in the individual standings.
