FSC’s Crouch, BU’s Svensson Named GCAA PING All-America
NORMAN, Okla. (Men’s Golf) – The Golf Coaches Association of America announced its 2014 Division II PING First-Team All-America honorees on Thursday. Florida Southern’s Tim Crouch and Barry’s Adam Svensson received the accolade.
Crouch captured his second-straight NCAA Division II individual national crown yesterday with a three-round score of 213 (E). Svensson finished second with a three-round score of 214 (+1).
Crouch became the third Division II golfer to win back-to-back national title. He currently ranks sixth in the most recent GolStat.com rankings. Crouch won three tournaments this year and was named All-SSC First-Team for the second time. It is his second All-American honor of his career.
Svensson won the SSC Championship individual title and was named SSC Golfer of the Year. He won a school record seven events this year. It is the second-straight year that Svensson has been ranked No. 1 in Division II and earned First-Team All-American honors.
Barry’s Mario Beltran was named PING All-Freshman. The freshman won two tournaments this season, and is currently helping No. 1 Barry towards a chance at a second consecutive national title.
