Thirty-Four Student-Athletes Earn NFCA Academic Accolades

Student-Athletes From Rollins, Barry, Florida Tech, and Eckerd are Honored

LOUISVILLE – On Tuesday, October 6th the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced its 2014-15 NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes. The Sunshine State Conference was represented by 34 All-America Scholar-Athlete award winners from four institutions.

The NFCA Academic Awards program honors both collegiate and high school teams for their submitted grade-point averages from the 2014-15 academic year.

Rollins College leads the way in the SSC with 11 receipients. Barry University and Florida Institute of Technology both had eight athletes receive the award, while Eckerd College had seven.

Over 5,000 student-athletes from across seven different divisions were tabbed NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes. Division II was represented by 833 scholar-athletes, which ranks third among all divisions. For a complete list of Division II honorees, click here

NOTE: Palm Beach Atlantic, a Sunshine State Conference provisional member, had nine athletes receive NFCA academic accolades.
