Lynn sophomore Willi Wolfer has again been selected Sunshine State Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the period ending February 27.
Wolfer (Troisdorf, Germany) posted a 4-0 record with wins over two nationally-ranked opponents to help lift the No. 5 Fighting Knights to a 2-0 weekly record. In an 8-1 win over Division III No. 26 Bates, Wolfer, who is ranked No. 27 in Division II, took down No. 14 Matt Bettles 6-1, 6-1 in #1 singles. He also combined with Alex Voirin for an 8-0 win over Tim Berg and Sam Woods in the #2 doubles slot. Wolfer then notched a 6-4, 6-2 #1 singles win over No. 24 Krasimir Atanasov in the Knights’ 9-0 sweep of No. 50 Palm Beach Atlantic. He joined Luca Pavanelli for a #2 doubles decision over Alex Minicozzi and Bastian Guenther.
