Barry's Yas Gutierrez and Florida Southern's Max Russell have been tabbed Sunshine State Conference Baseball Players of the Week for the period ending May 2.
![]() | PLAYER OF THE WEEK -- Barry senior OF Yas Gutierrez (Hialeah, Fla.) led the Buccaneers to a 3-1 weekly record, including an SSC series win at Lynn. Gutierrez batted .467 with six runs and seven RBI. He tallied three doubles and two home runs en route to a 1.067 slugging percentage. He hit safely in each of the four games to extend his hitting streak to 10 contests. He drove in multiple runs and scored at least one run in three games. For the week, Gutierrez posted a .600 OBP and a 1.000 fielding percentage. |
