Tampa's Messina Tabbed Women's Hoops Player of the Week

Tampa junior guard Gianna Messina has claimed the final Sunshine State Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week award of the season.

Messina (Tampa, Fla.) closed out the regular season with a double-double in the No. 16 Spartans’ 82-65 win over Florida Southern.  Messina tallied 25 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, two blocks and a steal.  She shot a solid 8-for-13 (62 percent) from the field, 4-for-6 (67 percent) from three-point range, and 5-for-5 at the free throw line.
