Rollins' Giblin and Tech's Pyles Earn Women's Soccer Weekly Honors

Rollins' Lindsay Giblin and Florida Tech's Melissa Pyles have been chosen Sunshine State Conference Women's Soccer Players of the Week for the period ending September 1.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK --  Rollins senior forward Lindsay Giblin (Naples, Fla.) led the Tars to two wins to open the season, including an upset over No. 5 Columbus State.  Giblin netted two goals in a 4-1 win over William Carey and then matched the tally in the 3-1 victory over Columbus State.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK -- Florida Tech junior goalkeeper Melissa Pyles (Daytona Beach, Fla.) led the Panthers to a pair of regional victories, including a 3-0 shutout win over No. 16 Montevallo.  In that match, Pyles stopped all three shots on goal that she faced.  Playing 74 minutes of a 3-1 victory against Christian Brothers, Pyles faced three shots on goal and made two saves to secure a 3-1 win.  In two matches, she posted a 0.55 goals against average.
