The University of Tampa volleyball team took time out of its fall practice schedule to host a Catholic School Clinic at the Bob Martinez Athletics Center.

The annual event was organized by Lisa Beamer, head coach and director of physical education at Villa Madonna School.

The event was held on Saturday, Aug. 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Over 110 students ranging from ages 8-13 attended. The students came from Villa Madonna, St. Joseph’s, Christ the King, Nativity, Incarnation and Most Holy Redeemer.

The UT players and coaches provided the two-hour free clinic as a way of introducing the young girls to the game of volleyball.

“The University of Tampa student-athletes thoroughly enjoyed meeting and working with the enthusiastic participants,” head coach Chris Catanach said. “We would also like to give a big thank you to Lisa Beamer for organizing the schools and the coaches of each school sending the kids. This was also a great experience for our team as well.”
