Florida Southern freshman Luis Rojas has been named Sunshine State Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week.
Rojas (Caracas, Venezuela) collected two individual wins and a relay victory in the Moccasins’ 109-96 win at Daytona State. Rojas clocked an NCAA “B” standard time of 1:42.13 in the 200-yard freestyle, the eighth fastest time posted by an SSC swimmer in that event this season. He tallied a mark of 51.46, also a “B” standard, in the 100-yard backstroke. That timewas the fourth-best 100-backstroke time in the SSC this season. Rojas also swam the leadoff leg of the Moccasin team that took the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:35.77.
