Florida Tech senior G Simon Cummings has been named Sunshine State Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the period ending November 20.
Cummings (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) averaged 25.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.5 steals, and 2.5 assists in a pair of Panther victories last week. In an 83-55 decision over Puerto Rico-Bayamon, Cummings tallied 22 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and three steals. In an 88-78 win versus Puerto Rico-Mayaguez, he notched 28 points, four rebounds, three assists, and four steals. In two outings, Cummings connected on 52 percent (13-of-25) of his field goal attempts, 43 percent (6-of-14) of his three-point attempts, and 78 percent (18-of-23) of his free throws.
