Tech Freshman/Novice 8 Rows to Boat of the Week

The Florida Tech Freshman/Novice 8 has been selected Sunshine State Conference Boat of the Week for the period ending April 11.

The Tech Eight captured the “Bill Doherty Memorial Trophy” at Saturday’s FIRA Championships.  The Panthers posted a time of 6:45.7 to defeat crews from Nova Southeastern, Florida, Florida State, Jacksonville, and USF.  Tech’s winning time was nearly 17 seconds faster than the second-place boat from NSU.  Powering the victory were cox Katherine Everitt (Latham, N.Y.), Aline Seekins (Searsport, Maine), Taylor Woodard (Kissimmee, Fla.), Amanda Horbert (Maitland, Fla.), Megan Taylor (Winter Park, Fla.), Erin McDevitt (Ventor, N.J.), Amanda Deveaux (Tampa, Fla.), Marie McBride (Hermitage, Pa.), and Taylor Barvais (Wichita, Kan.).
