SLU's Harvey and Lynn's Kaufman Earn Softball Weekly Honors
Saint Leo's Tiffinee Harvey and Lynn's Cristie Kaufman have been selected Sunshine State Conference Softball Players of the Week for the period ending February 14.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK -- Saint Leo senior OF Tiffinee Harvey (Lakeland, Fla.) batted .529 with six runs and six RBI to help lead the Lions to a 3-3 record in their first games of the season. Collecting at least one hit in every game, Harvey clubbed two home runs and four doubles en route to a 1.118 slugging percentage. Her most impressive outing came in a 6-4 regional win over North Alabama in which she went 3-for-3 with two doubles and a homer. Harvey tallied a .619 OBP for the week and was perfect in the field.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK -- Lynn senior Cristie Kaufman (Bradenton, Fla.) logged two complete games, including one shutout, in a pair of wins last week. Working 14.0 innings, Kaufman allowed just one earned run on five hits and two walks. She struck out 11. In a 3-1 victory over Georgia Southwestern, she surrendered one run on three hits and two walks with three strikeouts. In a 1-0 shutout versus St. Thomas, Kaufman gave up only two hits with no walks and fanned eight. She concluded the week with a 0.50 ERA.
