Lynn's Patterson Nets Women's Basketball Weekly Honor
Lynn junior guard Chelsea Patterson has been recognized as Sunshine State Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the period ending January 10.
Patterson (Largo, Fla.) averaged 16.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 2.3 steals per game, as the Fighting Knights went 2-1 for the week. Opening the stanza with a 66-42 win over Benedictine, Patterson tallied 17 points, five assists, three steals, and two rebounds. In a 67-66 SSC loss to Nova Southeastern, she recorded 18 points, four assists, three rebounds, three steals, and a block. Rebounding with a big 52-50 conference upset over No. 14 Tampa, Patterson contributed a double-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, and a steal. In three games, she shot 47 percent (17-for-36) from the field, 46 percent (6-for-13) from three-point range, and 80 percent (8-for-10) at the free throw line.
