Danielle Selkridge, a senior middle hitter for No. 6 Tampa, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week.
Selkridge had an overwhelmingly dominant offensive week while leading the Spartans to a 4-1 record. After a sweep over Palm Beach Atlantic, Selkridge hit a perfect 1.000 going 10-for-10 in only her two sets played against Valdosta State. Tampa followed that match-up with a loss to then-No. 22 West Florida, but Selkridge did her part by tallying 20 kills and hitting at a .633 clip.
UT was able to get back on the winning track with victories over West Georgia and Christian Brothers due to her dominance. In those two matches, she had 13 and 12 kills with hitting percentages of .705 and .857, respectively.
Selkridge's award marks the third time a player from Tampa has earned a Sports Imports/AVCA Division II Player of the Week honor. The honor is the the second for Selkridge, who also won the award on October 12, 2010.
She was also named Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
The Spartans are coached by Chris Catanach.
