Camille Indest, a junior middle blocker for Rollins College, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week.
Indest had a big weekend when her team needed her most, as Rollins has been ravaged by injuries to key players in recent weeks. In the first of a pair of conference wins, she hit .478 with 14 kills in a sweep of Nova Southeastern. She also tallied three digs and three blocks. The Winter Park, Fla., native continued her strong play in a four-set win over Barry by smashing another 12 kills and hitting at a .440 clip. She also contributed two service aces, three digs, and four blocks in the victory over the Bucs.
For the week, Indest averaged 3.71 kills and one block per set while hitting an impressive .458. The two important victories put Rollins over the .500 mark on the season (8-7) and at 2-2 in the Sunshine State Conference.
Indest is just the second player from Rollins to earn a Sports Imports/AVCA Division II Player of the Week honor, with the previous coming from Stephanie Nichols the week of September 18, 2006. The Tars are coached by Sindee Snow.
