Rollins' Adams Named to Capital One Academic All-America Baseball Team

Rollins baseball student-athlete Nick Adams was named to the Capital One Academic All-America squad, which was announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Thursday.
A senior shortstop, Adams was tabbed a second-team selection.
The Orlando native played and started 49 games for the Tars in 2012, finishing third on the team with a .303 batting average. His 63 hits tied for team-best and ranked sixth in the Sunshine State Conference. He earned 12 extra-base hits with 10 doubles, one triple, one homerun and 20 RBIs. Adams led the team and was eighth in the SSC with 14 stolen bases.
In the classroom Adams earned a 3.84 GPA majoring in economics. He is the only player from the Sunshine State Conference or South Region to be named Academic All-America.
The Capital One Division II and III Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2011-12 DII and DIII Academic All-America® teams program.
